We’re sending this letter out a little earlier to remind everyone that we have a Painting and Sketching workshop at Le Jardin d’Eden on 2nd July from 2pm – 5pm. This is being run by Joycelyn Bridge – if you’d like to join us, please let me know. All abilities are welcome, so come along and share your creativity under the watchful guidance of an expert.

We have a lovely summerhouse where you can enjoy a hot or cold drink and a snack, so even if you’re not interested in the workshop, you can relax in a lovely atmosphere and take a look at the plants, flowers and shrubs we have on offer.

It’s official! Parisian women allowed by law to wear trousers!

I was surprised to see the news that Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, the minister for women’s rights, has managed to change the law banning women from wearing trousers in Paris! I didn’t know this law existed. Apparently this law was passed some 200-odd years ago and stated that women wanting to ‘dress like a man’ (!) had to get official permission from the authorities.

Manot Festival Itinerary – what’s happening and when

With less than a week to go to the Music and Arts Festival in Manot (16500), it’s ‘all go’ for everyone involved. The musicians are busily practicing and perfecting their set list; the stallholders are putting the final touches to the arts and crafts they’ll be presenting; the dancers are ramping up for their performance and the tea dance and Sheila, from Portman Fitness is getting her demonstration ready.

It’s been non-stop for all of us with making sure posters are up and that the event is advertised in as many places as we can find. There is an article in Etcetera magazine and an article will be published in the Charente Libre later this week.
